Social Media

So I came across this job opening from Facebook and they were actually looking for a Team Lead for Client Solutions here in Manila. It was so tempting that I started thinking of revising my resume to somehow fit the job that they are offering. For a second there I really had my hopes high because it's always been a dream for me to become a part of the social media industry here in the country, the big ones too like Nuffnang for example. But somehow, I feel like I still lack the skills for it or am I just procrastinating it? Well, I tried applying for a position with Nuffnang before but maybe I wasn't really cut out for it yet that time, and that was some years ago then too.

Well, I was blogging actively before and had some ads from Nuffnang, I also did lots of sponsored posts. I was really getting paid to do that and my Paypal has really been receiving amounts from these. I also tried Facebook Marketing at some point. Around 3-6 months I think before I found myself back in the corporate world. And that's where I lost it. I wasn't able to keep up a blog anymore and haven't had the time to manage the pages too.

Right now, I got this opportunity to learn more. I was somewhat promoted as a Project Manager and soon I will be starting to handle new things I haven't done before. For the longest time that I have been on a management role, I think this is the only time that I will be immersing myself into that very job. Now, I'm seeing it as a chance to improve myself, Gather and learn everything I need. I'm not really saying that I will be using it as a stepping stone, but in a similar sense, it might just be as useful as it is now for me in the future.

My new boss who believed in my capabilities guided me into a more fitting direction. I may have known people who taught me a lot but he actually showed me where I really should be. Before I thought I wouldn't be able to get myself out from the automotive industry. Yes, I did change jobs over a year ago but still, the account is pretty much the same, US before then AU now. But all of this led me to Project Management. Maybe I am not too good with the actual terms to call what I've been doing until now but surprisingly, I might have already had the skills needed to be anywhere I'd want to be, I just don't know about it then.

So as much as I wanted to dive into social media now, I might need to get to know what I am really capable of, challenging myself even more while being excited for what's about to come in the next 6 months to 1 year. It might just work perfectly well for me too, who knows.

So that's it for today! Cheers and see you back on my next post!
